Jackson Peak 10,741': My first real summit

Our goal

Goodwin Lake, the usual stopping place

Off trail scramble up the hillside to the ridge

Nearing the summit, looking toward the Gros Ventre mountains

Final push up the rocky ridge to the unofficial summit rock pile

Adding my rock to the pile, Tetons in the background

Came home to a gift of a trumpet from a friend. First time I've played in 12 or 13 years.
Awesome day!

Failed attempt for Disappointment Peak, GTNP

Made it above Amphitheater Lake to the saddle (approx. elevation 10,500')

Decided to climb this pinnacle to the Southeast of Amphitheater Lake instead

Was way too scared to get any closer to the edge, but looking down the other side of the ridge into Garnet Canyon (see previous pics) and out to the valley and Taggart Lake

Targhee Bluegrass Festival:
First time mountain biking

Top of Targhee ski lift, West side of the Tetons.

Taking the "Sidewinder" trail. Bike shop said it should take 45 mintues max for slow riders. Trail notes suggest it is intermediate to advanced, and trail riding experience is mandatory. Not to worry!

Grand Teton National Park
Death Canyon Trail to, well, Death Canyon

The closest I've come to losing my life so far.
I never need to be this close to baby bears and their mothers ever again!
(We think they could smell our sandwhiches, so started following us down the trail)

Still alive, and at the end of our hike, just past the patrol cabin in Death Canyon.

Top of the waterfall, staring down into the valley and Phelps Lake
